Well I try not to think too hard about this. But I think a character death should smiply restart the XP count towards the survivor titles. Then all characters will always have a chance at the titles. And if that's the case, then a character who survives for the required amount of XP since their last death literally survived during that amount.

I know someone will say that a character that has died is not a "survivor." But that's up to Anet to decide. They can adjust this title to go by the literal meaning of survivor, translated into the title "survivor." If you get 1,337,500 xp at any point without dying, you survived long enough to get that much. That's how Anet should do it.

Also, I'm sure people are starting new characters to get the Legendary Survivor title, then they can do whatever and die trying things. But who's to say Anet isn't gonna throw in some Super Legendary Title at 5,000,000 xp? I hope they're not in the habit of doing this. We can already thank them for putting a feeling of incompletion on old characters for some people.
